John Cox was the son of Nathaniel Cox Jr. and Joanna Tenney. John married Lovina (or Lavina) Hallowell about 1831. John and Lovina had eight children. John was buried in Lower Edmunds Cemetery (aka South Edmunds Cemetery) on Shore Road. His house was shown on an 1861 map of Edmunds, Maine. It was on a hill overlooking the cemetery and Dennys Bay and Whiting Bay.
