Obituary of Rose C. Hughes
Graveside services for Rose C. Hughes were held at 10 am Monday at the Ord City Cemetery with Rev. Ron Roemmich officiating. Mrs. Hughes died Jan. 17 in Denver, Colo. She was 90 years old.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Olinger's Englewood Chapel of Denver. Colo., with Pastor Ed Christian officiating.
The daughter of William Francis and Edith Jane Howland Evans, Rose Caroline Hughes was born Dec. 11, 1882 in Pike County, IN. Her early life was spent in Valley County. She married Pearl Hughes in 1908. After his death in 1917, she continued to live in the Ord area for several years, later moving to Scottsbluff. She had been a resident of Valley Hi Nursing Home in Denver the past several years.
Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Carolyne Wright of Denver, Colo. two sons Harry W. of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Francis E. of Boise, Idaho. Also five grandchildren and 13 grandchildren.
