Christine D. Boma, 95, of Rantoul, IL., formerly long time resident of Piper City, IL., died on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. at Katy's Cottage in Rantoul. Her funeral mass will be on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Piper City with Rev. Raed Bader celebrating the mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Piper City.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Developmental Services Center, (Christine Boma is Grandmother to Megan Dueringer) 1304 West Bradley, Champaign, IL. 61821, or to the Gladney Center for Adoption, 6300 John Ryan Drive, Fort Worth, TX. 76132

Christine was born on April 19, 1920 in Hollister, Oklahoma to Mose and Lula (Blair) Acree. She attended schools in Sibley, IL.

She married Richard Blaine Boma on July 19, 1942 in Piper City. He died on February 3, 1999.

Christine is survived by a daughter - Jan Boma Dueringer of Champaign, IL and Carmel, IN., and a son - Steve (Debbie) Boma of Aledo, TX. Four grandchildren - Stephanie (Jim) Dueringer Truscott of Carmel, IN., Megan Elyse Dueringer of Urbana, IL., Courtney (Peter) Boma Stricklin and Jacob Boma all of Aledo, TX. Four great-grandchildren - Kellan William, Alyssandra Elyse and Rhys Ryan Truscott all of Carmel, IN., and Conner Thomas Stricklin of Aledo, TX.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Diane and eleven siblings.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society. Other memberships include Piper City American Legion Auxiliary, 40 & 8, Home Extension and was a volunteer at Danville VA Hospital. Christine was a homemaker and worked in the Piper City grocery store and clothing stores in Chatsworth and Gilman until her retirement. She loved to travel far and near ( the highlight of which was a trip to Italy when she was in her 80's where she visited the Vatican and saw the Pope) for vacations. Attending State and National American Legion Auxiliary conventions and most of the school activities/sporting events of her children and many of her grand-children's. Her family has always said if a car was leaving Christine wanted to be in it! She was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, cheered for the Illini and Michigan State, loved a good laugh and most of all enjoyed her many family members.
