HICKORY - David L. Foster, 82, of Hickory, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 under the care of Hospice. He was born July 10, 1932 in Catawba County, to the late William Jeremiah Foster and Bertha Chapman Foster. He was a veteran of the US Army and was the owner and operator of Foster Upholstering. He was also the owner of Bo-Peep Grill for 22 years. Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Betty Barnett Foster, 3 daughters; Debra Foster, Teresa Foster Beard and husband Robert "Bob", and Renee Foster, all of Hickory, 3 sons; David F. Foster and wife Pamela, Jamie Foster and Jimmy Callahan, all of Hickory, 2 sisters; Reba Poovey of Hickory and Peggy Beard of Newton, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.The memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, in the chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. David Crump officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 48.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.On-line condolences may be sent to www.bass-smithfuneralhome.com.
