Mrs. Ruth E. Grogan, 80, Coupon, Gallitzin Road, Ashville, died Monday, April 19, 1999 at her residence.

She was born Aug 15, 1918, in Altoona, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ada (Henry) Alloway. She married Lorane T. Grogan, he died June 9, 1987.

Mrs. Grogan was a member of Cresson Presbyterian Church, where she served as organist.

She worked as a registered nurse.

Mrs. Grogan was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1941 graduate of Children's Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh.

She was a member of Gallitzin Womens Club and volunteered for the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and the Talus Rock Council of the Girl Scouts of America.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Saavino of Hollidausburg; a son, Wayne of Gallitzin; a sister, Ivy Gallaher of Ebensburg; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lenz-Gibbons Funeral Home, Gallitzin, and noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Cresson Presbyterian Church.
