Death of Mrs. Dr. Brown
Mrs. Alice M. Brown, wife of Dr. H.W. Brown, whose illness we referred to last week, died on Thursday afternoon. Her illness had been of brief duration, and her death caused a general feeling of sorrow among the large circle of friends, and the deepest sympathy for the bereaved husband and son. It was evident that she herself was fully aware that the end was near, for she had arranged in detail for the funeral services, selecting Mr. F.E. Cutler for general charge of the services, and Messrs. W.B. Weld, F.W. Robertson, W.R. French, F.C. Platt, Wm. Bates, and C.D. Wangler as pallbearers. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the residence, and the services were conducted by Rev. B.W. Jones of the church of the Redeemer, with which the deceased had been an active worker for years.
Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Doty, of this township, and was born Olcott, New York. Her age was about 39 years. She was married to Dr. Brown 17 years ago, and leaves besides her husband and son, a father, mother, three sisters and a brother, with many other relatives.
