Dr. Harry W. Brown
Dr. Harry W. Brown, 79, former Waterloo physician, died at 3 a.m. Monday at Methodist hospital in Des Moines of carcinoma.
He was born in Waterloo Aug. 10, 1880, the son of Dr. Harry W. Sr. and Alice Doty Brown. Dr. Brown was a graduate of the medical school at the University of Iowa in 1900.
He was a member of B.P.O.E., Waterloo Lodge 290 and of the American Medical Association. He practiced in Waterloo until 15 years ago when he became associated with the Veterans Hospital facility in Des Moines.
Surviving are his wife in Des Moines and a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs. John L. Hanjey of 136 Prospect Ave. and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers.
Funeral services are tentatively set for Wednesday afternoon at the Dunn fuenral home in Des Moines after which the body will be brought to the O’Keefe & Towne funeral home, where services tentatively are set for Thursday.
