Mr. Rusmisel was a Hump pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Burma-India-China Theater. After the war he earned his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and his Master's degree from Trinity University. He retired as an Assistant Superintendent for the San Antonio Independent School District.
Mr. Rusmisel is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy Rusmisel; daughters, Leanne Timmons and husband Donnie, and Lanette Rusmisel; grandchildren, Kara and Brea Timmons.
Private services were held for the immediate family on Friday, October 11, 2013, at Holy Cross Cemetery.
