Dorothy Kush Rusmisel passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Austin. Born on October 27, 1927 in San Antonio to George and Cora Kush, she was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She went on to graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University with a BA and a Master's Degree (MED).

She taught mathematics in SAISD at Lanier HS and Rhodes Middle School, and later was a math teacher and counselor at NISD at Sul Ross Middle School and H.B. Zachry Middle School. She belonged to several professional education and counseling organizations, was president of Epsilon Beta and Delta Kappa Gamma, and was a member of the San Antonio Retired Teachers Association.

A member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Dorothy served as president of the Altar Society and the VIP Club. She was also a member of the Conservation Society and the Hermann Sons, Louise Schuetze Lodge. Dorothy traveled extensively, both in the U.S. and internationally.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Leanne Timmons and husband Donnie, and Lanette Rusmisel; and 2 granddaughters, Kara and Brea Timmons.
