Charles was born on Jan. 31, 1920, in Sutherland, Neb., the son of the late Henry and Anna Olson. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He came to reside in Joplin with his wife in 1977, after many years of farming and raising his family near the town of Imperial in Chase County Neb. He worked for Olson's Garage in Webb City, Mo.,until 1982.
He married Clara G. “Peggy” Eppard,daughter of Audie F. and Cora E. Eppard, on Dec. 19, 1948, in Neosho, Mo.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Peggy; their children, Rod Olson and wife, Kathi, of Neosho, Rhonda Olson, of Joplin, Donna Dement and husband James, Tulsa, Okla., Barbara Adams and husband Dennis, Neosho; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Vivian Olson, Mary Harbert, Ann Steinmeyer and husband Richard, Pat Marlatt and husband, Bill; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, John and Emil Olson.
