Longlasting & Loving Tributes to
Heinrich "Henry" Schoenberg
About 18 months after Heinrich's death, a son was born to Heinrich's oldest brother, Charles "Carl" Schoenberg, and his wife Mary (Pung) Schoenberg. To honor the memory of Heinrich, Carl & Mary named their new son Henry "Hank" Schoenberg, after his deceased uncle.
Another lasting tribute to their son was fulfilled by the parents, Martin & Katie Schoenberg. They purchased a statue of St. Henry and donated it to St. Michael's Church in Spring Hill. The statue of St. Henry still stands at the very top of the right side alter. (see photo)
To balance the appearance left side alter with the right side alter, Martin Schoenberg purchased and donated another statue. A statue of St. Katherine, the patron saint of his wife, was placed atop the left alter where it remains still today.

Henry Schoenberg, seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Schoenberg of Spring Hill, died at the Melorse Hospital on Friday morning three days after being operated upon for a ruptured appendix. He was taken sick very suddenly on Tuesday and by the time an operation was possible the poison from the broken appendix had penetrated his system and it was impossible for him to rally. At the time he was taken sick he was at the home of Jos. Welle of Meire Grove and was attending Melrose High School. While he gave evidence of much more than the ordinary ability and had already won a large number of friends. Funeral services were held at Spring Hill on Tuesday.
