He was born April 16, 1899, at Astoria, the son of Edward and Josephine Branchfield Schisler. He married Fern Beaty Sept. 5, 1925, in Macomb. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Melba Collins of Frederick, Mrs. Bessie Pempek of Springfield, Mrs. Nelda Parker of Astoria and Mrs. Carolyn Halloway of Chillicothe; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayes of Vermont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and two brothers.
Carl Schisler, 81, of Astoria, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 1981 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

Mr. Schisler was a retired farmer. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collins Trone officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Phillip Collins, Gregory Parker, Geffrey Parker, Gerry Parker, Craig Holloway and Byron Pempek, grandsons. Mrs. Connie Lockard served as organist. Burial was in the Astoria cemetery.
