Born July 11, 1928, the son of Edwin and Edna Mechler Bohl, Roy passed away peacefully on August 16, 2001.

He was a 1945 graduate of Devine High School where he played football. Roy started his career in the grocery business in the early fifties. He founded Gulf Brokerage, Inc. in 1965 and remained active in the business serving as a Past President of the San Antonio Food Brokers Association and on several broker advisory boards.

Roy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A rancher and an avid sports fan, he enjoyed family, friends, and travel. He will be dearly missed.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Edwin Jake (Sonny) Bohl and James P. Bohl. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Patricia McCowen Bohl; his children, Mark S. Bohl, Cathy Bohl Housman, Patricia Bohl Karpienski and Ann Bohl Deacon; his daughter-in-law, Darla Bohl; his sons-in-law, Arthur Karpienski and Charles A. Deacon; his grandchildren, Christina and John Housman, Troy and Brittany Bohl, and Samantha and Michael Karpienski.

ROSARY SUNDAY 7:00 P.M. PORTER LORING CHAPEL MASS MONDAY 10:00 A.M. ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI CATHOLIC CHURCH 4201 DeZavala Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio. Entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum. Arrangements with Porter Loring Mortuary.
