Marion was a farmer, then a crude oil pumper, and then an engineer for a stationary engine at the water works. They lived in Dull, OH, then Prospect Ave., Van Wert, OH.

He was a big-boned man, heavy, jovial and a favorite of the Putman and King families.

Obituary, "Lima News," Lima, OH, August 4, 1939:

"F. Marion Putman, 77, lifetime resident of Van Wert Co., is dead of complications at his home in Van Wert. He was a native of Liberty Township.
Surviving are his widow, Cora; five children, Mrs. Laurence Orr Garrison, Mrs. Gettus Pugh and Arleigh Putman, all of this city, Ray Putman of Antwerp, and Mrs. R.J. Peters of Detroit, Mich; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Hurrah of Van Wert and Mrs. Cora Hartzog of Celina; and a half-brother, Daniel H. Whitmore of this city.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the first United Brethern Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Sharp and Rev. J.O. Rhodes. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Church (Ridge/Slater) Cemetery, Liberty Township."

Their children were: Fred Floyd, Virgil C., Orley Wayne, Omah Grace Garrison, Maude Fay Peters, Arthur Raymond, and Lula V. Pugh.
