Mary (Toomey) Thill, 91, of 507 Memorial Drive, Chilton, died on Thursday, May 9, 1996 at her home.
She was born on September 8, 1904 in Brillion, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Koskubar) Scharenbroch. She married William Toomey in 1926, he preceded her in death in 1964. In 1966 she married Joseph Thill, he preceded her in death in 1974.
She and her husband owned and operated Toomey's Grocery Store in Brillion for 32 years until 1962 when they retired. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. Mary crocheted many lap blankets for the Veteran's Hospital in Wisconsin. She loved playing cards with her many friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Granata, of LaGrange Park, III, Joyce Jandrey, and her daughter, Sandy Jandrey, of rural Chilton, Jerri (Alan) Edwards of Carson City, NV, and her children, Patricia (Patrick) Bennet, of Seattle, Wash., Sharon Edwards of Los Angeles, Calif.. Mark Edwards, of Carson City, NV, Daniel Edwards, of Carson City, NV; three great grandchildren; three sisters. Lillian Beilke, of Manitowoc, Louise (Henry) Mertens, of Sherwood, Rosie (Wilmer) Geary, of Shiocton; four brothers, Raymond (Theresa) Scharenbroch, of Manitowoc, Peter Scharenbroch of Weyawega, Edward (Rita) Scharenbroch, of Menasha, Charles (Marilyn) Scharenbroch, of Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Mae Scharenbroch. and Gen Witalis.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy in 1956, and by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 1 a.m. on Monday, May 13th. 1996 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton from 3 to 8 p.m. on , Sunday and on Monday from 7:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. when family prayers will be held. A parish prayer service will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
