Steven was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He was adopted as a baby by a wonderfully doting couple. He resided in Woodcliff Lake and was a Class of 2006 graduate of Pascack Hills High School, where he had participated in school plays and was a member of the choral group. He had accepted a scholarship to Drew University in Madison, New Jersey and was scheduled to start in September, 2006.

Steven and another boy, Lee Weisbrod, 19, of River Vale, were killed during a fast-moving thunderstorm by a lightning strike, while trying to get to shelter. They were playing soccer with two friends on a high school athletic field. The other two boys were able to reach safety and sustained only minor physical injuries.

Steven was a very creative, funny and caring person. While working in day care, I had the pleasure of watching him grow up, and his passing is truly a loss for all the people whose lives he touched.

Steven was laid to rest in Beth-el Cemetery in New Jersey, after a Jewish faith service.
