Maxim Fredrick Reisig, 80, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Boulder Community Health Foothills Hospital.

He was born July 25, 1934 in Hays, Kansas to Alex and Mollie Reisig. Max grew up in Russell, KS, and graduated from Russell High School and later attended the University of Colorado at Boulder.

While in college he returned home to Russell and married the love of his life Anita Peterson on July 31, 1954. Following their marriage, they have lived in Boulder for the last 60 years.

Max had a long and successful career as a home builder. He owned and operated Reisig Construction doing contracting, and later Maxim Homes, Inc., as a full-service builder. Over 55 years, he built and helped design many beautiful custom homes. Max loved his work and the people he worked with. He was a well-respected member of the building community.

For many years he and Anita were active members at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. He was an excellent vocalist who sang in the First Pres choir and also traveled around Colorado singing in musical productions such as Handel’s Messiah and the Requiem at Easter. Anita would often be his accompanist on organ or piano during his solo appearances.

Max is remembered by his family as a loving husband and father, a tireless and hard worker, and for the endless hours of practice he put into his singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one bother Adolph and three sisters Helen, Isabel and Ada.

Max is survived by his wife Anita, five children Kathryn Reisig (Richard), David Reisig, Christopher Reisig (Leeza), Kyra Palmieri (Michael) and Karin Reisig (Scott); eleven grandchildren Anya, Hailey, Eva, Rayse, Nathaniel, Mikaela, Carlos, Emily, Beatriz, Vaughn and Angus; and four great-grandchildren Christopher, Landon, Petra and Lorenzo.
