Anita Faye Reisig, 83, passed Saturday, January 12, 2019. She passed comfortably in her home under the loving care of her eldest son, David Reisig. She was cared for by her children Kyra Palmieri and David Reisig during her last years living with Alzheimer's.

Anita was born on February 7, 1934, in Hays, Kansas, to Donald and Harriett Peterson. Anita grew up in Russell, Kansas, and graduated from Russell High School in 1952. She then attended Brown Mackey Business school in Salina, Kansas.

Anita married Max Reisig, her childhood sweetheart, in Russell, Kansas, on July 31, 1954. They then traveled west to make their home in Boulder, Colorado, where they lived for 60 years. Anita was a very successful secretary for many businesses and institutions, including the National Bureau of Standards, Ball Brothers (now Ball Space Engineering), the University of Colorado Boulder at the President's office, and as a legal secretary prior to returning to the University for a second term. At that time, she worked in multiple departments prior to her retirement in 1997.

Both Anita and Max were active members at the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. Anita was an accompanist on both organ and piano for the church choir, and played at several other churches in Boulder at different times during her profession as an accompanist. She also accompanied on piano and organ and was of great support to Max during his vocal training and solo appearances. Anita was also known in the music circles of Boulder to put on great piano recitals in her home. She also supported her children who studied piano by fine tuning their abilities to count the measures of music appropriately.

Anita is remembered by her family as a very warm and generous, loving, very socially fun and entertaining, popular lady. She loved gardening, especially her roses and red bud tree. Reading and playing her music were some of her favorite quiet pastimes. Watching birds at the feeder with her husband as the sun set, riding in his sports car with the top down were special times for them both. Anita always dressed lovely and with lots of color. Purple being her favorite. She had a giggle that was contagious and when heard by others invited them to join in the fun.

Anita is survived and loved by four children—Kathryn Reisig (Richard), David Reisig, Christopher Reisig (Leeza), Kyra Palmieri (Michael); ten grandchildren—Anya, Hailey, Eva, Rayse, Mikaela, Carlos, Emily, Beatriz, Vaughn and Angus; and four great-grandchildren—Christopher, Landon, Petra, and Lorenzo. Her husband Max passed in June 2015; her grandson Nathaniel passed in June 2017; and her youngest daughter Karin passed in December 2017. All are lovingly remembered.

Anita's cremated ashes will be taken back to Russell, Kansas, and placed next to her husband Max's ashes, and near other family members.
