He was born 8 Apr 1925 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of the late George Wesley Basham, Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Williams Basham. His step-mother, Gaye Lilly Basham survives and resides in West Virginia. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara Louise McConnell Basham of Tippecanoe. They were married on 25 Feb 1961. He was a loving father to his son, Mark Wesley Basham of Dublin; his daughter, Melinda (Ernest) Kempf of Groveport; he was a wonderful grandfather to two granddaughters and seven great-granchildren, Ashley Hall and her two children, Charlie and Gloria, of Columbus and Sara (Josh) Mathews and their five children, Brooklyn, Alexis, Cody, Hailey, and Joshua of Ashville, Ohio; and a brother, Bob (Mary) Basham of Tippecanoe.
George will be greatly missed by his family. George was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Services will be held Thursday, 18 Jun 2015 at 11 a.m. in Koch Funeral Home. Military Rites and burial will follow the service in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport.
