Leona E. Sander, 88, Victoria, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born May 24, 1918, in Hyancith to Nick J. and Mary (Wittman) Wasinger.

She married Adam U. Sander on Aug. 27, 1946, in Emmeram.

He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1982. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella, both of Victoria.

Survivors include three sons, Deloyd A. Sander and wife, Agnes, Hays, David L. Sander and wife, Rebecca, Hays, and Dale J. Sander, Victoria; a daughter, Delilah Green and companion, Merle Fager, Victoria; two brothers, Virgil Wasinger and wife, Marilyn, Hays, and Edwin Wasinger and wife, Mary, Chicago; two sisters,

Marcella Berens and husband, Jake, Russell, and Bernita Degenhardt, Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Marion Wasinger; two sisters, twin, Georgine Sander, and Lorraine Wolf.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Church Air Conditioning Fund or for Masses.
