He was survived by his wife, Lillie (Mounce) Bray (married February 18, 1915 in the Ruth community, Pulaski County, Kentucky); his sons, Ruben Bray of Somerset, Kentucky and James Bray of Somerset, Kentucky; his daughters, Marie Perciful of Lenoir City, Tennessee, Della Barringer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Leona Lambe of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 4 foster grandchildren; and 2 foster great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Van Bray and Polly Ann (Stogsdill) Bray.
Funeral services were held at the Clay Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Lloyd Sewell and Reverend Edmond VanHook officiating.
Somerset Undertaking Company was in charge of arrangements.
