Mrs. Kienzle had been in failing health for several months and was taken to the hospital in St. Louis Monday. Following an operation Friday, she was believed to be improved, but pneumonia developed and she failed to rally. With her at the time of her death were her husband and her father, Ernest S. Jones of this city.
Born on July 1, 1897, in Springfield, Mrs. Kienzle was a lifelong resident of this city and was educated in the Springfield schools. Until her illness she was very active and well known in the city's social circles. Up to about a year ago she was in charge of a woman's circle at First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. She also had been active in the work of the Springfield Woman's Club and other local organizations.
In addition to her husband and her father, she is survived by her mother, of San Antonio, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Loren Grannis, San Francisco, and Miss Barbara Kienzle, at home; one sister, Mrs. Carolyn Lovejoy, San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, Ernest M. Jones of Indianapolis.
Remains will arrive In Springfield at 2 p.m. today and will be taken to the Thomas C. Smith Sons Funeral Home.
