Hamilton Colwell Obituary (Colwell File)
October 1897 (Newspaper Unknown)
Hamilton Colwell died at the home of his daughter Mrs. James Corbit near Pulaski, Wednesday, October 20, 1897. He was born in Ireland in 1831 and came to this country in 1883. He settled near the lake where his son Thomas now resides. He was an industrious, hard working man and had gained thereby considerable property. His wife died three years ago, leaving a family of eleven children and her husband behind. One daughter died last February. The other ten remain to mourn the loss of both father and mother.
Mr. Colwell will be missed by his family as their counselor and wise advisor and also by the community in which he lived as a good neighbor. His funeral was largely attended from the Goodnough church Saturday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Dermott, who took for his text John 11:25. Interment was made in the Ellisburg Cemetery.
