Born September 9, 1924 in Aiken County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Rodgers and Bessie Whittle Rodgers.
She was a lifelong resident of Aiken. She retired from the State of SC Probation, Parole and Pardon Services as the head secretary. She later was active through her husband’s employment with the Bellsouth Telephone Volunteers, formerly The Telephone Pioneers, enjoying traveling and numerous friendships.
She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was very active. She loved everybody’s children and often helped in transportation and childcare. Family was always an important part of her everyday life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Susan Hahn Arthur, her sisters, Doris R. George, and Ellen R. Peters, and her brother, JC Rodgers.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Frederick Richard Hahn (Cheryl) of Aiken; her daughter, Diane Hahn Hall (Leo) of Beaufort; her sister, Eletha R. Crabtree of Aiken; her grandchildren, Austin(Katie), Erin, Beverly(Dectric) and Derrick; her four great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Sullivan Woodward of Aiken.
Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
