Harland Elmer Broehm, age 76, died peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton. Harland was born on May 1, 1938 in Forest Junction, WI; the son of the late William and Hilda (Kamke) Broehm. Harland was a 1956 Hilbert High School graduate. On July 27, 1957 he was united in marriage to Dianna J. Weiskopf at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel, WI. Harland and Dianna owned and operated the Millhome Supper Club in Kiel from 1965-1978. After they sold the supper club, Harland worked for Product Foods Sales of the Fox Valley and Northeastern Wisconsin retiring in 2003, to a home they built in Lakewood. Most recently he was the on-site manager of Forest Junction Estates Apartments. He was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church of Appleton and the North American Hunting Club. Harland was an avid hunter and fisherman and always looked forward to hunting and fishing with his son and grandsons. Harland enjoyed attending his grandchildren's various activities and sporting events and was their number one fan. Harland was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who is survived by his two children, Lonie (Mark) Bastian, Brillion; Scott (Tina) Broehm, Stockbridge; five grandchildren, Jared and Jaden Bastian and Ashley, Travis and Adam Broehm; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Mason; his faithful dog Lady that he adored; two brothers, William (Blanche) Broehm, Appleton and Donald Broehm, Waupaca; a sister-in-law, Alice Broehm, New Holstein; two brothers-in-law, Lanny (Violet) Weiskopf, Kiel; and Charles (Joyce) Polster, St. Anna; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harland was preceded in death by his wife Dianna in 2008, an infant daughter in 1958, a great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Broehm, and a brother, Elroy (Ruby) Broehm. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church 601 E. Glendale Avenue, Appleton with the Rev. Daniel Thews officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
