BATESBURG - Services for Loreita Bedenbaugh Shealy, 70, of 2221 Spann Road, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Clydes Chapel Southern Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Fletcher Rawls and the Rev. William O. Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eli Cochran, Jeremy Cochran, Ben Cochran, Nicky Shealy, Nicholas Shealy and Matthew Shealy. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 this evening at Milton Shealy Funeral Home and other times at her residence. Memorials may be made to Southern Methodist Missions, P.O. Box 39, Orangeburg, SC 29116.
Mrs. Shealy died Wednesday, May 22, 2002. Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of Uneida Matthews Bedenbaugh and the late Matthew Owens Bedenbaugh. She was a member of Clydes Chapel Southern Methodist Church where she was a member of the Missions Board, the Annie Lee Bright Woman's Missionary Society and a former Sunday School teacher. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her mother of Saluda; husband, Richard W. Shealy of Batesburg; children, Dianne and Charles Cochran, Caryn and Frankie Cockrell, Claudia and Robert Cochran, all of Batesburg, Ricky and Donna Shealy of Lexington, Charlie and Debbie Shealy of Saluda, Owens and Marcia Shealy, Vaughn Shealy, John and Debra Shealy, Tillman Shealy, all of Batesburg-Leesville, Lora and Brian Kutz of Lexington, Donnie and Diana Shealy, Jenny and Leonardo Joaquin, all of Batesburg; 23 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Shealy of Batesburg; brothers, Legar Bedenbaugh of Saluda, Osborne Bedenbaugh of Batesburg, Harold Bedenbaugh of North Augusta. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vanessa Attardo.
