Funeral services for John Goodson Allen , 68 years of age, were held Monday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m. from the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church in Larue County Ky with the Rev.J. H Bloyd in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Charlie Price, Henry Allen, Creed Allen, Elmer Allen, James Allen, and Everett Allen. Allen son of the late Elijah B. Allen and Vice Hall Allen, was born November 9, 1885 in Larue County Ky. He died Sunday, August 1, at 3:35 a.m. at his home near Mac, in Taylor County Ky. He professed faith in Christ last summer and was a member of the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Rebecca Ann Allen on December 24, 1904 and to this union 10 children were born : Mrs. Nora ( Lively ) Vaughn, Mrs. Fronie ( Roy ) Burress, Everett Allen, Creed Allen, and James Allen, all of Mac. Mrs. Elsie ( Chaelie ) Price, and John E. Allen, both of Indianapolis , Indiana. Henry Allen , Route # 1 , LaGrange Ky, Mrs. Novella ( Bill ) Estes of Greensburg Ky, and Mrs. Dorine ( Carmen ) Young of Summersville Ky. Besides his wife and children, he is also survived by one brother , Robert Allen of Indiana and many other relatives and friends.
Note: Death Certificate gives date of birth as November 9, 1905 which is incorrect . Death Certificate states Mac, Taylor County, Kentucky. Obituary states he died near Mac , Kentucky. Death Certificates have been wrong . So I chose to go by his obituary that was provided by his wife , my family member
