John Elmer Allen, 82, of Beartrack Road in Campbellsville, Ky., Sept. 15, 2004, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after an illness. Son of the late John Goodson and Rebecca Ann Allen of LaRue County, Ky., he was a retired school janitor in Lynwood, Ind.
He was married to Sarah Matt Perkins Allen, who survives.
Survivors also include four sons and two daughters-in-law, five daughters and four sons-in-law, all of Indiana; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Henry Allen, Creed Allen and James Allen, all of Campbellsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Nora Vaughn, Elsie Price, Novella Perkins, Dorene Durham and Frona Burress; and one brother, Everette Allen.
Funeral was at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jim Mason officiated. Burial was in Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery in LaRue County.
Pallbearers were Jason Bright, David Biles, James Rex Allen, Ronnie Allen, Daniel Quinn and Roger Perkins.
