Joshua married Elizabeth Story 15 September 1812 in Kentucky, USA. To this union were born eight children. Joshua and Mary moved to Fayette County in 1821 and acquired a tract of land slightly more then 81 acres on October 2, 1822 as signed by President James Monroe (certificate #1579).
A second tract was granted November 30, 1825 and signed by President John Quincy Adams (certificate #1950).
With Joshua his parents Richard and Lydia Jones Fowler, Jr.
also moved to Fayette County, Alabama.
