Christopher Columbus Stansell, son of William L. and Mary Jane Shelton Stansell, was born December 18, 1890 at Kingston, Arkansas. He came to northeast Kansas in 1901 where he farmed and engaged in the business of buying and selling livestock through his more active years. He retired in 1951 and moved to Fairview, Kansas, where he has since made his home. C. C. Stansell, as he was better known, is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Maryann Otis of Topeka, Kansas, and two brothers, James M. and William E. Stansell, both of Seneca. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.

Funeral service for Mr. Stansell was held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Thornburg Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ross Sackman of Augusta, Kansas. Alonzo Lambertson, soloist, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Evening Prayer." Interment was at the Seneca city cemetery.

Active casket bearers were Ernest Carpenter, Ralph Herrmann, Arthur Mincher, James Stansell, Vincent Stansell, Henry Stuke, Leslie Stuke and Howard Grose were honorary pallbearers.
