MRS. MARY JANE STANSELL
Mrs. Mary Jane Stansell, whose home for many years has been in Seneca, widow of a veteran of the Civil War, died early yesterday morning at the home of a son, C. C. Stansell, at Nortonville, Kansas. She was past 86 years and five months of age. Death came as a result of a stroke.

The body has been brought to Seneca and the funeral service is to be at 2:00 this Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. D. S. Grose, a daughter, Rev. Charles Richard will conduct the service and there will be singers from Centralia.

Mrs. Stansell's maiden name was Shelton. She was born February 7, 1850 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was married July 4, 1865 to Levi Stansell at Kingston, Arkansas.

Twelve children were born. Those who survive include the son and daughter before mentioned, also Jessie Stansell of Hillsbourg, Oregon; Harrison of Cheyenne, Wyoming; James of Centralia; William and R. A. Stansell of Seneca. There are five generations in the family before the death of Mrs. Stansell. Her children were the second generation; her 36 grandchildren the third; 50 great-grandchildren formed the fourth generation; and six great-great-grandchildren the fifth.
