Treva Cates, 90, died 24 March 2015 at Town Hall Estates in Arlington Texas.

She was born 13 December 1924 in Monroe. Her parents were Hugh S. Newby and Harriet LeFevre.

Raised in Sevier and Piute counties, Utah. The second of ten children.

Married W. Ralph Henry in 1943 in Marysville. Had two sons: David And Michael.

Moved from Salt Lake City to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1950 and then to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1960. Moved back to Salt Lake City in 1963.

After Ralph Henry died in 1975, she married Glen Cates in 1978 and resided in Lafayette, Louisiana until Glen Cates passed away in 1999.

She moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 2001 to live with her son, Michael, and his wife, Rosalie. The last year of her life, she resided at Town Hall Estates, Arlington.

She is survived by her son, David; his wife, Erika; granddaughter, Jessica Gentry, and husband, Michael; great-granddaughter, Allison Gentry; granddaughter, Jennifer Henry; daughter-in-law, Rosalie Henry; great-grandchildren, Kristin Hensley and Blake Roper; siblings, John Newby, Patricia Jones, Ruth Gates, Callie Clark, and families; and sons and daughters with their families on the Cates side.
Her youngest son, Michael Henry; granddaughter, Rebecca Hensley; brothers, LaVar Newby, Calvin Newby, and Quinn Newby; and sisters, Teora Willis and Larene McCoard, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
