Funeral services for Nannie Mae Chaffin, age 88, who died Thursday, July 1, at McCurstion Regional Medical Center in Paris will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Gary Gibbs, pastor of First Christian Church in Bonham, will officiate. The Reverend Don Griffith will assist. Burial will be in Windom Cemetery.

Chaffin was born in Honey Grove April 29, 1905, the daughter of Thomas Lee Epperson and Evie Elizabeth Cole Epperson.

She married Alonzo "Pood" Chaffin and he preceded her in death in 1983.

She and Mr. Chaffin built the first nursing home in Gainseville. She was administrator there for many years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Bonham.

Survivors include nieces Phyllis Charles of Honey Grove, Dixie McWhorter of Windom, Frankie Strickland of Paris, and Joyce Cozart of Gainesville, MO., and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Joe Milhollon, O. M. Weaver, Steve Stephenson, Gary Gibbs and Richard Murden.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday night.
