Mary's 3rd husband, Bob Ake, is buried to the right of Mary and Mary is buried between Alva and Bob. Alva was her 2nd husband. Her actual grave is unmarked but her name is on her second husband's stone marker.

Mary is buried between her second and third husband, Al C. Loyd and Robert A. Ake but at the time of her death her married name was Mary Ake however her inscription was placed on her second husbands marker whom she told me was the only man she truly loved?

Ross Cemetery, photo taken facing south with I-74 to the right a quarter mile at the New Point (Indiana)exit where Mary lived and owned a grocery store in New Point for many years. Her grave, husbands, Al and Bob are the two stone markers at the bottom of the picture. Interesing to note that the empty plot to the right belongs to Mary but will probably never be used? She is buried between the two husband's stones but her marker is combined with Alva's stone.

Mary on right with her nursing home room mate, Mary M. I took my Aunt Mary and her room mate, Mary out for the day. We visited her two husbands graves at New Point, Indiana and then traveled on to Metamora, Indiana to visit the grave of her youngest sister, my mom. We stopped on the way at Batesville to have lunch and a chocolate shake which to them was a big treat.

Mary is buried between her two husbands, Alva Loyd and Robert Ake - between the two stones at the bottom of this photo. She has no actual stone marker over her grave but her marker is on her second husband's grave stone - the Alva Loyd stone on bottom right of photo.

Mary, with her husband, Alva, operated a small grocery store in New Point, Indiana. After he died, Mary married Robert Ake and Mary is buried between both husbands without an actual marker on her grave. Alva was robbed and pistol whipped severly by the robber and the beating left one side of his face paralized and distorted for the rest of his life. His wife, Mary (whom was my aunt) once told me that "Alva was the only love of her life" even though she was previously married to James Smith and later to Robert Ake and both men were kind and loving husbands to her. I remember when I was a young kid and my parents would stop to say "hi" and 'Uncle Al' always made over my brother and me and would give us candy from the store shelf. Mary wrote songs and loved to play the piano and sing the songs that she wrote. After marrying Robert Ake, they moved to Greensburg, Indiana and she died in a nursing home there on the third day after her 100th birthday. My brother and I was there on her birthday and gave her a dozen roses but she was not feeling well, in some pain... she died from cancer. Mary had two children by her first husband, James Smith, (the marriage ended in divorce) their son, James W. Smith that died at a young age of six and their daughter, Evelyn Smith Davids. Mary made some mistakes in her life and was sorry for them but she died a strong beleiver in Christ and was ready to die and died without fear.

Mary Ake (L) a nephew and Betty Neal her sister.....Mary lived three days past 100 and Betty died one month shy of 100! Mary made some mistakes in her life but received Christ and loved to play the piano and sing gospel songs.

Bob was the third husband to Mary and she is buried between him and her second husband, Al Loyd. Bob was well liked and was a nice man and a generous person and was a good husband to Mary.
