Harriet Elliott was born on 22 June 1849 to Thomas Gilbert Elliott and Mary Ann (Stevenson) Elliott in County of Warwick, District Birmingham, Sub District of All Saints. She was the second child of five children. Her Baptism took place at St. Philip in Warwickshire on 3 Nov 1851. She married Walter Ellis on 21 July 1867 at Christ Church in Pitsmoor, Yorkshire at the age of 18. Harriet and Walter went on to have 8 children together. Sadly her husband Walter Ellis was struck by a tramcar on Winster Street in Sheffield on 21 April 1909. He was taken to the Royal Hospital where he later died. She went on to live another two years before she too passed. Both Harriet and Walter are buried at the Sheffield General Cemetery. Section M1, Plot 87. (*Note: She is the only one of her siblings to stay in England, the rest at different times went to America. Even her mother went to America in 1888 after the passing of her husband)
