William "Bill" Abels 85, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Saint Joseph, Missouri health care center (Carriage Square living and Rehabilitation Center) due to end stage dementia. He was born April 4, 1929 in Andrew County, Missouri, son of Rada and Thomas Abels. He served in the United States Navy, and worked as a Carpenter. He was a Baptist. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, five, sisters, and a grandson, Levi Bledsoe. Survivors include, seven children: Tom Abels of Saint Joseph, MO, Crystal White (Tim Bacon) of St. Joseph, MO, Kathy (Bill) Bledsoe of Kansas City, Kerlin (Bridget) Abels of Winston, MO, Karlon (Linda) Abels of St. Joseph, MO, and William J. "Billy" Abels Jr. of St. Joseph, MO, fifteen, grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a brother in law, Pete Rice.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Bobby Bacon officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Savannah Cemetery.
