Peter was a carpenter/cabinet maker, and a farmer the last few years of his life. The father of seven children: Frances, Katherine, Marie Christine (Mae), Hedwig Dorthy, Hedwig Emily(Hattie), Wilhelm (Willie), Elsa. According to his family he was frequently known to say, "Deutschland uber alles" which they translated to, Germany above all. Actually it is more complicated than that. It really is only meant to convey a deep love for the "mother country." Until he died, the family only spoke German at home.
Peter died of stomach cancer at 47 years of age.
