A lifelong resident of Haywood County he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lizzie Russell Fisher. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry and Floyd Fisher, and sisters, Mary Mauck, Martha Benson, Lura Fish and Hester Henderson.
Mr. Fisher was a U.S. Army veteran and he attended Nineveh Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Maude Coward Fisher; daughter, Sharon Fisher Monteith and husband John of Brevard; grandson, Wes Monteith of Asheville; brothers, Crawford Fisher and wife Helen of Nebo, Robert Fisher and wife Doris of Waynesville; sisters, Minnie Fish of Maggie Valley, and Hazel Mathis and husband Troy of Clyde.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Wells Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesville with Rev. Michael Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM Monday at Wells Funeral Home.
