Private funeral services for Shirley M. Kelley, age 82, of Ogdensburg will be held at Foxwood Memorial Park with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Kelley passed away Tuesday evening (March 10, 2015) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility with her children by her side.
Surviving are two sons, Guy (Kathy) Kelley and John Kelley both of Lisbon; a sister, Eleanor (Mervyn) Billings of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren Melissa (Ryan) Amo, Kimberly Stiles and her companion Matt Bottar, Brandon Kelley and his companion Hilary Newcombe, Tessa Kelley, Samantha Kelley, Adam Kelley, Johnathan Kelley, Jessica Driscoll, Kelli Driscoll and James (Denise) Bertrand; and four great-grandchildren Emma Axtell, Aubrey Amo, Alysse Amo and Marisol Bertrand.
She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Kelley; a daughter, Cynthia Driscoll; and siblings Kathleen Boulton, Christina Groulx, George Glover and John Glover.
Shirley was born on Sept 6, 1932 in Brockville Ontario, a daughter of George H. & Kathleen (Pierce) Glover. She attended Brockville Collegiate School for her education, and later married John R. Kelley on June 15, 1954 at St. Mary’s Church in Ogdensburg. She was employed at Automatic Electric in Brockville, Ogdensburg area drug stores, Sholette’s Steak & Ale, Acco Brands, Fred Shurtleff Co., and Ogdensburg Trust which later was renamed to Community Bank where she retired from in 1995.
Shirley enjoyed bowling, traveling, golfing, playing softball in her younger years and spending time with her family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.
