He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and was a member of the Russell Creek Missionary Baptist Church, He was a United States Army Veteran, served during the Korean War. he was a member of the James L. Pruitt Post #5813 Veterans of Foreign Wars,also a member of the Rod Lowe Post American Legion, Greensburg, Kentucky. He was employed by Greensburg Manufactoring. Besided his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Spaul.
He is survived by his wife Betty Adams Dicken, of Green County, Kentucky, five sons and one daughter, J.D. Dicken and friend Rebecca Smith of Greensburg, Gail Maygardner of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Larry and Vanessa Dicken, David and Ella Dicken, all of Greensburg, Kentucky, Mark Dicken of Lexington, Scotty & Andrea Dicken of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and one step-son Mike Adams of Shephardsville, Kentucky, Two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pauline Brown of Franklin, Ind. Doris and Glen Smith of Campbellsville., Kentucky.
Funeral services for James Dicken will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 13, 2015 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky,( Pulaski County).
Visitation will be after 7:30 a.m. Friday March 13, 2015 ,until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow with Military Honors.
The family requests that expression of sympathy be donations to the Disabled American Veterans. These can be made at the funeral Home.
