ROY-Don Lloyd Christensen, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. He was born June 30, 1925, a son of James E. and Lillie Jeppsen Christensen, in Moore, Idaho. He graduated from Box Elder High, class of 1943.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, during World War II.
On February 20, 1950 he married Marilyn Wilcox in the Salt Lake Temple. She died May 31, 1995. He married Betty Jane Ratcliffe on June 12, 1996 in the Bountiful Temple.
Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Roy 3rd Ward, where he loved to sing in the choir.
He worked as a comptroller for the Defense Mapping Agency in Clearfield, retiring after 33 years. He loved hunting, camping, hiking, boating, and Monday Night Football.
Don is survived by his wife Betty, his children, Brian D. (Angelika) Christensen, Donell (Scott) Hansen, Carolee (Mark) Ballif, Jeri Lynn Woodruff, Curtis (Michele) Christensen, 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, his brother, Gale Christensen, and sister, Ellen Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn, son, Kevin S. Christensen, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 2:30 p.m., at Roy City Cemetery 2300 West 5200 South, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
