Walker S. Oliver, a resident of Beattyville died at the Nim Henson Nursing Home in Jackson, Kentucky on Monday, October 8, 1979. Oliver was 63 years old. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Highways and a retired merchant. He was a member of the Royal Arch Chapter No. 111, Proctor Lodge No. 213 F&AM, a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the St. Helen’s Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Frances Oliver, three sons, Charles Raymond, Garry and Larry Oliver, one daughter, Mrs. Donna Faye Piper, two brothers, Edmond Herman Oliver and John Paul Oliver, five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Smyth, Mrs. Beulah Wilson, Miss Gladys Oliver, Mrs. Madge Cockerham, Mrs. Marie Rigdon, and two grandchildren Miss Lesley Dawn Oliver and Michael Oliver.
Funeral services were conducted at the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 11, 1979, with the Rev. Dennis Brewer, Sam Wilson and Jerry Ginnan officiating. Burial was in the Evans Crossing Cemetery at Campton, Ky.
