Paul Pheanis, known to most as Ike, 86, passed away on Feb. 19, 2015, at Greenbriar Nursing Home, in Eaton.
Ike was born Oct. 25, 1929 in West Alexandria. Ike served in the Marine Corps for two years prior to his career at General Motors, where he retired as a manager from Harrison Radiator. He married Patsy Wright in 1950, something that brought him happiness his entire life. Ike was a longtime member of the Camden United Methodist Church and served on the Preble Shawnee School Board for several years while his children were in school.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lee (Wright) Pheanis who passed away in July 2014; Don Pheanis, Permilla Lowell Pheanis and Frank (Lafe) Pheanis.
He is survived by siblings Kenny Pheanis (Lucy), Joann Rickard (Ivan), John Pheanis (Diana), Bob Pheanis; sons Greg Pheanis (Maggie Evans), Jeff Pheanis (Judy) and daughter Shaun Stacy (Jim); grandchildren Jeff Pheanis (Jill), Rob Pheanis (Kristy), Tara Pheanis, Lori Chapin (Josh) and Cassidy Pheanis; along with nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Ike and Patsy together, as they would have wanted it, at a date to be announced this spring.
