ABERDEEN – Maddie Dean “Mate” James Ezell, 64, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1942, to the late Jessie James and Nana Lou Cunningham. She was a faithful member of New Hebron M.B. Church and a member of the choir. She was educated at the Aberdeen schools. She was a former employee of Indian Creek and Puckett Manufacturing. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching the Home Shopping Network, and collecting teddy bears and porcelain dolls.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hebron M.B. Church with the Rev. David James officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Mildred and Senora Cousin of Tupelo; four sons, Oliver and Andra Ezell of San Antoino, Texas, Odell Ezell of Aberdeen, Walter and Glynda Ezell of Columbus, Eric and Katrina Ezell Bafford of Dover, Dela.; five sisters, Evelyn Harrison of Compton, Calif., Ruth and Robert Wright of Nashville, and Lillie and Willie Gardner, Belinda and Jack Gladney, and Janette and Willie Gladney, all of Aberdeen; two brothers, Walter and Susie James of Chicago, and Jessie James of Aberdeen; a special niece, Leslie and Anthony Marion of Wren; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two stepgrandchildren; two uncles, David and Priscilla James of Aberdeen and Ben and Hazel James of Warren, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ollie Ezell Jr.; and a sister, Pearlene James.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
