ABERDEEN – Jessie "Spoke" James Jr., 54, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born May 7, 1957, to Louise Washington James and the late Jessie James Sr. He was a member of the New Hebron M.B. Church. He received his education from Aberdeen Schools.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25 at the New Hebron M.B. Church with the Rev. Sam Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Washington James of Aberdeen; four daughters, Christina Fair (Tony) of Aberdeen, Cheree Merhundrew Sims (Richard) of Aberdeen, Chaka James Ivory (Alforoda), Collette James Gates (Quinton) of Aberdeen; two sons, Christopher James and Mark Hampton, of Okolona; sisters, Evenlyn Harris of Atlanta, Lillie Gardner (Willie) of Aberdeen, Ruth Wright (Robert) of Nashville, Genette Gladney of Aberdeen, Belinda Gladney (Jack) of Aberdeen; 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
