Obituary from Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) - 15 September 1995:
Our kind, gentle, and loving Dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, ended his earthly life on September 12, 1995 due to cancer.
Glen Cluff Bean was born in Teton City, Idaho, September 18, 1919 to Clarence M. Bean and Myrl Eleanor Cluff Bean. He married his sweetheart, Wilma Sumner, on June 5, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He attended school in Teton City and Rexburg, Idaho, Provo, Utah and attended BYU (but his loyalties were with the UTES).
He worked in the building construction business with his father and brother, later with Ricks College in Rexburg. He was gifted in his profession which was exhibited in his finished product.
Dad enjoyed Mother Nature and her beautiful gifts of the outdoors and instilled those joys in his family.
He was active in the LDS Church and loved the Lord dearly as was demonstrated by his unselfish love of others.
He served his country in Europe during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Artillery.
Survivors are his children, Sherrie (Scott) Thomas of Sandy; Bill (Nancy) Bean of Salt Lake City; sisters, Thayl (Ralph) Olsen, Jerry (Dick) Powell of Salt Lake City; 6 grandchildren and 3 3/4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma, parents, and brother, Max.
Funeral services will be conducted at the 6th LDS Ward in Rexburg, Idaho on September 19th, at 12 noon. Viewing will take place on Monday, September 18, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Flamm's Mortuary in Rexburg, and 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Rexburg 6th Ward.
