Leonard Carlyle Etter, 86, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Lafayette Home Hospital. He had been a resident of St. Anthony Care. Born June 8, 1914, in Perry Township, near Buck Creek, he was a 1932 graduate of Monitor High School. His marriage was to M. Ruth Klinger on Nov. 28, 1935; she died June 8, 1999.

Mr. Etter had been a life-long resident of the Lafayette area. For 36 1/2 years, he had worked in the lab and test room at Fairfield Manufacturing Co., and he had been a life-long farmer. He retired on June 30, 1976. He was a member of Schuyler Wesleyan Church, Fairfield Retirees, Fairfield Athletic Association, and Perry Township Farm Bureau. He enjoyed flying, traveling and reading.

Surviving are a son, Leonard J.C. (wife Rosalie) Etter; a daughter, Nancy (husband Darwin) Titus; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
