Born in Burke Co., N.C. September 30, 1902, Ellis Graham Barber was born as the second child of seven children born to Lonnie Graham Barber and Laura Emma Jane Sparks Barber.
Siblings were Ernest Lee Barber, Lula Rae, Fred Wilson Barber, Melvin Reid Barber, Lee Roy Barber, and Margie Helen Barber.
Ellis married Minnie Ida Cuthbertson Barber on July 27, 1923 in McDowell County, North Carolina.
They had five children, Paul Edward, Mary Elizabeth, Irene Ellene, and Katherine Kateria Barber.
Also, Ellis and Ida had an infant girl, born and died, in Burke County, N.C., July 26, 1926. The Infant Girl only lived three hours.
Ellis resided the biggest part of his life in McDowell County, N.C.; he worked at and retired from Drexel Furniture Company, Marion, N.C.
On January 17, 1980, Ellis Graham Barber, still married, died at the age of 77.
