The Gridley Twice-A-Week Herald, Saturday, November 2, 1918, pg 1 col 7: Mrs. W.J. Cole Dies After Much Suffering. Mrs. William J. Cole, of Gridley Colony No. 7, died yesterday morning after a long period of suffering from cancer. Arrangements for the funeral had not been completed last night.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband and a number of children, and four of her sons are in the armed forces of the United States.
