Joe Frank worked as a truck driver after proudly serving in the Pacific with the U.S. Army during WWII. His hobbies included his vegetable garden, country music, playing banjo and guitar, and reading. He was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as a deacon and as president of his Sunday School Class. Special thanks to Robert Gaston, Jr. MD, Alive Hospice and to his caregivers Sherley Lockridge, Frances Lee, Angie Long, Jackie Cook and especially to Becky Davis. She was with him most often at home, doctor visits, hospital stays and family events.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucille Bogle, and only child, Jonetta Bogle Kessler.
Survived by his brother, Paul (Rosie) Bogle; sisters, Helen Bogle (Howard) Anderson, Mary Bogle (late Allen) Dutton and Joyce Bogle (late Wallace) Garner; granddaughter, Dawn Amena Bogle (Bruce) Kessler; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Ruby Rooker.
Visitation with the family was held 5-7PM on Sunday, February 26, 2017 and 9-10AM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home located at 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee. Funeral services was conducted on Monday, February 27, 2017 in the Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Active pallbearers were Tom "Chief" Coulter, James Oldfield, Eugene Wilmore, Joel Walton, Bobby Bass and Tucker Davis. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews and the Fellowship Sunday School Class at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
